New shadows on sibutramine

Sibutramine is a substance that can change the chemistry of the brain to suppress appetite.
In January this year the Italian Drug Agency (AIFA) has provided the suspension of sale and use of medications containing this drug because of side effects, especially in patients with cardiovascular disease.




Data from a study published this week on New England Journal of Medicine further validates the choice made by the AIFA. More than numbers, however, are the words of ' editorial accompanying the scientific work to perhaps put an end to the use of this medicine: "It' s difficult to find credible reasons to keep this drug on the market " writes three editors of the authoritative magazine.

Walking keeps your brain young

A study published this week in the journal Aging Frontiers in Neuroscience shows that a ' aerobic exercise of moderate intensity (walking at their own pace for 40 minutes three times a week) can improve connectivity to important brain circuits. It 'just this slight activities physical to fight the decline of brain function associated with aging and improve performance in cognitive tasks . These effects are not achieved if instead of walking you do stretching exercises and muscle toning.

National Congress of Italian Association Urologists

Person Health Study Group will be present in a significant way to the National Congress of ' Italian Urological Association (AURO) to be held in Rome September 22 to 25.


The Dr. Rossel Root , Urology and Head of our surgical group, in addition to being present with four works will also be moderating the session of Congress: Andrology and surrounding area with particular focus on the questionnaires concerning the ; Sexuality.
The Dr. Antonella Remotti Psychologist and Head of Psychological our group, will join Dr. Root in two communication focusing on women's sexual dysfunction, particularly on a sensitive issue as infibulation.
The Dr. Nicola Alfieri, Sports Physician and Head of complementary medicine in our group, will join Dr. Root in a statement on changes in lifestyle and benign prostatic hypertrophy .
